2010 Intern ApplicationPDFIquitos, Peru Summer Missionary Intern Job Description This is a volunteer position for anyone with a heart for missions. You will spend a minimum of six weeks in the port city of Iquitos, Peru and the surrounding jungle villages working with U.S. church mission teams and their Peruvian partner churches. This is a demanding position which will develop organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. You will work under the supervision of the full-time Iquitos missionary. 7 a.m. – Breakfast
7:30 a.m. – Depart by boat/motokar to village/church/worksite You will accompany mission teams to their churches/villages each day. You may certainly choose to participate in the teams’ projects; your primary responsibility is to facilitate communication and to be available for whatever needs arise. Noon – Lunch 4 p.m. – Return to Iquitos Upon returning each afternoon, if necessary, you will assist the group leader and/or Señor Villa in purchasing supplies and project materials for the following day. 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. – Free time (you may have more/less time depending on what needs to be done on any particular day) 7 p.m. – Dinner 8 p.m. – Mission team devotion/reflection time After devotions, you are free for the remainder of the evening.
